Chantree Williams has music running through her veins. she started singing at  the age 8. her passion was fueled by her family singing with 90's gospel phenomenal John P. Kee . at 15 inspired her to formed her own gospel group Soldiers of Eternity. Although she was born in Germany she was raised in Virgina. Since then she has continued performing, writing and singing. and competition in  numerous reality  TV singing competition after  year of delay she is ready to showcase her talent on her Mixtape entitled Hitlist. she just finished shooting her first music video her single  "Roc".(April 21)

I came across her on YouTube here is our Exclusive:

On Reality TV competitions

KSY:You competed in Neyo's talent search and made it to the top 10 can

you describe the whole experience to us?

CW:The whole experience was extremely stressful because there were so
many people auditioning as well. When I actually made it I was shocked
and overwhelmed with excitement. But, I can honestly say the best part
of the whole experience was meeting Ne-yo and his producers.

KSY:Most recently you audition for the Kandi Factory, and you received
a call back from one of the producer what happen?

CW:I did not make the show because it was specifically for people that
struggled with their talent. But, they did enjoy my audition and
wanted to compliment me on my vocals.

KSY:What other talent competitions have you audition for?

CW:I auditioned for American Idol, X- Factor and also Apollo

On Her New LP

KSY:You have been working  on your new LP entitled "Hitlist" Volume 2
describe the whole vibe of the LP?

CW:Hitlist is actually not an LP it is a mixtape but the vibe of
“Hitlist” is my own way of going in on every industry beat that was on
the top billboard chart.

KSY:What are your 2 favorite tracks on Hitlist and why?

CW:If I had to pick two “Love to Love You” would be my 1st because it’s
a song that is about learning the value of a relationship and I feel
many people can relate to it. The 2nd song for me would be “Pretty
Girls” because the title would make you think it is about appearance,
when actually it is about girls judging each other based off looks.

KSY:What is the first  single that you will release from Hitlist?

CW:The first single released would be “Roc”

KSY:As a song writer have you written any songs for anyone or for your debut LP?

CW:No I haven’t written for other artist but it is something I am
interested in doing. As far as my mixtape “Hitlist” all the songs
where written by myself as well as my God sister Jasmine who is the
featured writer on “Pretty Girls”

KSY:Describe the process of putting together Hitlist?

CW:I have been working on this process for at least a year and a half.
Hitlist was suppose to be release last summer but due to different
issues with the studio I was working with prolonged the release date.

**Here is a sneak preview of  "Dreams "off of Hitlist available on April 29.**

KSY:What producer or Artist did you work with  on Hitlist?

CW:I worked with Doza, who is a rapper from Virginia, as well as JavierStarks, who is from DC

On what is missing in the music industry

KSY:When you listen to the radio what do you think is missing or
lacking in the music industry?

CW:I find diversity to be the main thing lacking in the music industry.
To me everything sounds the same so my goal is to make a whole new
movement in music.

KSY:What do you want to bring to the music industry as a new artist?

CW:I want to write songs that encourage women to be the best they can
be. I am at the point of my life where I am noticing the women of this
generation need some encouragement and I want to be the one to give it
to them.

On her unique sound

KSY:How would you describe your sound and genre of music?

CW:My sound is unique and different from many other vocalists. My genre
is rock, pop, with a little R&B and gospel feel.

On her musical background

KSY:Tell us about the gospel group you formed known as soldiers of Eternity?

CW: I was in love with this group! It was and still is my heart because
the experience allowed me to express myself at that point in my life.
I was a high school student trying to reach out and go against the
grain. Since gospel was and still is part of my background it was the
best fit for me and the people involved.

KSY:You come from a family of singers, who where part of the Gospel
scene in the 90's what was the name of the group, who did it consist
of and what songs did they sing?

CW:My uncle was a background singer for John P. Key when he first
started so he toured with him and sung at many different occasions.

On  her day job

KSY: Your day job you work at salon name Paris Blu how long have you
been work there ? what do you like the most about doing hair?

CW:I have been doing hair since I was 14 years old and it is something I
do enjoy. The best part to me is transforming people. For most of my
time doing hair I was working at a family owned business in Stafford,
VA. I recently started working at Paris Blu a couple months ago.

  More on the Hitlist

KSY: When is the release date for Hitlist and where can we pick up a copy?

CW:The release date is April 29 which is also my birthday which makes it
a very exciting time in my life! Hitlist will be available on
datpiff.com, which is the only place I am aware of at this time.

On what is next?

KSY:Do you have any other upcoming events and projects?

CW:Yes, I am in the process of working on an actual LP, as well as doing
video’s for “Hitlist”
